A Brief REX History
REX Airlines (REX) is replicated to simulate that of Regional Express, commonly known as REX (Airlines). The airline itself was established after the dimise of Ansett Australia and a consortium group of investors bought the previously Ansett operated, Hazelton and Kendall Airlines to form REX Airlines).
REX transports passenger and cargo services throughout Regional Australia. REX has since formed partners with Pel-Air Aviation and Airlink Australia. With the airlines mentioned, REX also operates corporate charter flights that can be arranged for either Australian domestic and/or International flights, an alliance with NRMA providing airline transport (NRMA Careflight) for the ill from overseas, Defence and Government aviation support operations and special mission activities for International Aid organisations. REX utilises various aircraft supplied by all alliances and partners. REX also operates cargo services throughout Australia, contracting for Australian Air Express and TNT.
So what does AVAG & REX have to offer?
When you begin your career with Australian Virtual Airline Group (AVAG) you will be required to operate the REX aircraft and fly the corresponding routes for a minimum of 35 hours until your first increment in rank. These aircraft include:- Saab 340, Beechcraft 1900D, Metroliner 23 and the Learjet 45. AVAG will also be replicating the partners formed by REX.
The routes have been organised to almost replicate completely real-life operational routes and times as that of REX and it's partners.
